Tips

Here are some tips for measuring blinds in case you need to replace them:

  1. Measure the width: Measure the width of the window or the inside of the window frame where the blinds will be installed. It's important to measure in multiple places to ensure an accurate measurement.

  2. Measure the length: Measure the length of the window or the inside of the window frame from the top of the window to the bottom. Make sure to measure in multiple places to ensure an accurate measurement.

  3. Take note of any obstructions: Make note of any obstructions such as window cranks or handles, that may affect the installation or operation of the blinds.

  4. Measure for inside or outside mount: Decide whether you want to mount the blinds inside the window frame (inside mount) or outside the window frame (outside mount). Inside mount blinds are installed inside the window frame and are generally more streamlined and take up less space. Outside mount blinds are installed outside the window frame and can be used to cover window trim or to cover a larger area than the window itself.

  5. Measure for cordless or corded: Decide whether you want cordless or corded blinds. Cordless blinds are safer for homes with children or pets and are more convenient to operate. Corded blinds are more traditional and are typically less expensive.

  6. Measure twice, order once: Measure the window twice to ensure the accuracy of the measurement. Once you have the measurements, double-check them before placing your order to avoid any errors.

  7. Consider the type of blinds: Consider the type of blinds you want to install. Some types of blinds, such as cellular shades, require exact measurements to fit properly. Other types, such as faux wood blinds, have some adjustability and can be trimmed to fit.

It's important to consider all the factors and to be precise when measuring the blinds to ensure that the replacement blinds fit perfectly and operate smoothly.
